Rishi Sunak or Liz Truss will be the UK’s next prime minister

Nearly 180,000 Tory members will now decide which of the two candidates will

lead Britain after Conservative MPs voted for Penny Mordant in the final round of voting this afternoon.

Sunak comfortably won the contest with 137 votes - up 19 on yesterday - followed by

Truss on 113 - up from 27 yesterday - ending Mordant with 105 - up from 13 yesterday.

All three were fighting for the vote of former equality minister Chemi Badenoch,

who lost last night by 59 votes.

She, like Truss, was seen in favor of MPs from the right side of the party.
